Hi, i'm not pretending to be a halflife expert, but this looks rather strange:
wine /hl2/halflife/hl2.exe
1st: do you have Steam engine running? Otherwise hl2 will, afaik not run at all.
2nd: did you install hl2 using wine? I have so , and right here it is in
/root/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/myname/half-life 2.
To me it looks as if you have copied your hl2 files from a windows partition or
a cd to /hl2, which you shouldn't do, but maybe i'm way off here. Please clearify
