Summary: Picasa doesn't autodetect images on the fly Product: Wine Version: CVS Platform: PC URL: http://dl.google.com/picasa/picasa2-current.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-misc AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: clay.wood@gmail.com CC: dank@kegel.com
I'm running version 20050830 installed from the rpm for a Red Hat 9 i686 build.
Autodetecting images doesn't work as smoothly on WINE as it does when run on Windows.
Here's the version of Picasa I installed: http://dl.google.com/picasa/picasa2-current.exe
To reproduce: 1. Save an image into the "My Pictures" directory. You can do this any way you like, although I did so from a web browser by mousing over an image then right click->Save Image As.... 2. Picasa displays no change in the number of pictures it has found. I would normally expect it to automatically show a new thumbnail of this picture in the "My Pictures" folder.
Notes: The picture must be large enough to be shown in Picasa. If your image is small, you must click View->Small Pictures before Picasa will show it.
If you restart Picasa the image will sometimes be detected automatically. Otherwise I've found that I have to click Tools->Folder Manager... and hit OK before the image is detected.
