I ran it in the windows version of Firefox 3.0.4 .
Either it redirects to an error page ("an error with the Google Earth plugin
occurred") or Firefox crashes or nothing happens while the CPU stays at 100%
(this debug log here). After some minutes I closed Firefox.

I used this command to get the log:

WINEDEBUG=+heap+relay wine "C:\Programme\Mozilla Firefox/firefox.exe" &>
/tmp/winedebug_ff_geplugin.txt

and loaded as example the website:

The 3d view problem is solved!

I found another registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Google\GoogleEarthPlugin\Render\RenderingApi=1
(it is by default 0, while the Google Earth client has it as 1)

That sets opengl mode.  Handy!  That's a good workaround, though, not a fix.

This has not been updated for over 900 days.

Is this still an issue in 1.6-rc1 or higher or is this abandoned ?
