I was using Wine 1.1.34 and Modern Warfare 2 was working very well, sound,
graphics, gameplay, mouse,etc.

I then decided to upgrade my motherboard to let me OC my CPU to achieve more
frame rates when playing multiplayer and decided to reinstall everything from
fresh....

I noticed that wine was updated to 1.1.35 and installed it...

After install game, when i lunched it i noticed right away that the mouse
cursor format didn't changed like used to do with 1.1.34....and then i noticed
the mouse could work to select the game options !

I can move around the mouse cursor but when trying to click in any of the game
settings options nothing happens !!!

I can however use the keyboard to select the options....

So, i decided to start a singleplayer game....the mouse cursor doesn't hide and
i can't use the mouse to move my point of view like i sed to do in 1.1.35 !!!

Then i launched multiplayer and same things happen....

Sorry about...i'm new as for reporting bugs...

I formatted again HD, installed XUBUNTU again and followed instructions for git
in your link (included all deps, compiled everything and all)....but before i
continue the tests with MW2 and regressions, i'm stuck with a detail....how can
i use winetricks with wine if in the instructions of the link it says that i
can't do "make install" ? winetricks can't find wine...

What is the correct command line to use winetricks in this situation of this
kind of tests ?

I have no problems with mouse on Wine 1.1.35 so I cannot confirm this bug. I'm
using 32 bit Fedora 12 with GNOME. My mouse is USB mouse.

I'm using XUBUNTU 9.10 and also a USB mouse....problem persists....some more
users in AppDB in the section about this game are also having same problem but
for some reason don't report here....right on top, check their posts...

Their names are "kostas" and "Chris" .

Hmmm... looks pretty similar to bug 21092, which is already bisected. If this
is the same problem you will know if you do:

1. install wine from your distro
2. use needed winetricks (if any)

3. Prepare your build environment (see wine's wiki)

4. git checkout c24e48d937cfd0000a22af555a920ea7fab71d7b

5. compile and test the game --problem should persist

6. Remove the failing commit by:

git show c24e48d937cfd0000a22af555a920ea7fab71d7b | patch -p1 -R

7. compile and test the game --problem should gone
