Bug ID: 38680 Summary: Cannot open http links with native Firefox on PowerPoint 2010 Product: Wine Version: 1.6.2 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: yajo@openaliasbox.org Distribution: ---
When there is an hyperlink in any slide in PowerPoint 2010 and the user clicks on it, it opens in winebrowser always.
According to http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys, the default behavior should be opening with xdg-open, which in my setup should default to firefox.
So it seems that either this is a bug in wine or in the wiki.
I tried solution in http://www.webupd8.org/2010/03/how-to-make-wine-open-links-in-your.html and nothing changes.
I tried symlinking iexplore.exe and winebrowser.exe to /usr/bin/firefox but the behavior still remains the same.

--- Comment #1 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- Confirming; this also affects Powerpoint 2007, and is still present in 1.7.44.
Note this does not affect Word or Excel--hyperlinks in their files open in native Firefox (the default browser on my system) without any registry tweaks needed.

--- Comment #2 from Yajo yajo@openaliasbox.org --- I cannot link the bug to the AppDB, but would be good if anyone can do it too.
