The backtrace wasn't helpful. Can you get a +seh,+tid,+relay log?
How to do it? Do I need to type in terminal "wine nhl2009.exe +seh,+tid,+relay" ? or is it something within winedbg package?
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21880
--- Comment #16 from Vincent Povirk madewokherd@gmail.com 2010-06-06 14:11:29 --- Run this in terminal:
WINEDEBUG=+relay,+seh,+tid wine nhl2009.exe &>relay.txt
This will make a very large file. If it's too big to attach, you can compress it and/or upload it somewhere else.

I guess some d3d function (which doesn't show up in the relay log) is at fault.

Possibly, but you can't conclude that just from seeing some wined3d calls in the log.

--- Comment #23 from Linards linards.liepins@gmail.com 2010-06-09 11:50:36 --- My research within WineCfg resulted in: - if I override file d3d8.dll with Native / Builtin or Native, game does launch and mouse cursor changes, but game is freezed and cannot do anything expect moving mouse. Only way out is restart. - if I override file dinput / dinput8 with same settings as above, result also is same as above. - if I override file d3d9.dll with Native / Builtin or Native, game does not launch at all. Nothing happens on game icons doubleclick.
Sound overrides has not been tested.

OOps! Sorry, wrote wrong!
Correct info:
Override d3d8 / dinput / dinput8 / d3dim / dplay / dsound -> Built-in / Native -> No crash ; Freeze ; Mouse cursors changed and movable ; Restart only. Override d3d9 -> Nothing happens on doubleclick. Override d3music -> No effect at all.

--- Comment #42 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello Linards,
could you please _stop_ posting full backtraces and/or terminal messages verbatim into bugs (happened multiple times now).
You're cluttering the bug and the info is not useful at all. Just stating "it still crashes" along with Wine version is enough.
If you really feel the need to provide logs _attach_ them as text file.
Regards

--- Comment #43 from Linards linards.liepins@gmail.com --- Oh, Okay, I will keep that in mind, Anastasius ;)

--- Comment #44 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello Linards,
unrelated to this bug ... but you have some interesting processes in your log:
--- snip --- 00000021 updateSecretSauce.exe ... 0000002c utilSecretSauce.exe --- snip ---
Might be adware/malware ... you could check by uploading the .exe files here: https://www.virustotal.com/
Maybe this stuff was installed by some other software, not related to NHL 2009 (drive-by apps). In general avoid (re)using the same WINEPREFIX for multiple software installations. A good practice is to isolate apps and games by giving each own prefix (WINEPREFIX=$USER/myapps/app1 ...).

--- Comment #45 from Jarkko K jarkko_korpi@hotmail.com --- Any update on this?
I have full version of nhl 07, crash.
For some reason nhl games have very bad rating with wine.
I would like to get them working better.
