Actually it starts just fine. But for some reason it started out of screen.

Also starts fine for me (wine 1.9.7). Either the application is updated or the
bug is fixed in wine.

There are no instructions on how to reproduce the issue, I have opened the
program and added 40 jpgs images, the slide show works and save/load the
project also works. Tested both 1.9.17 and 1.6.1.

Is this still an issue in wine 1.9.17 (or later)? What are the steps to
reproduce?

No news from the OP since 5 years. Unable to reproduce. Working fine for me.
Reported working by others users.
