Disabling, exiting, and then re-enabling the option at next startup fixed the
problem.
Probably ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/<user>/Application\
Data/MathWorks/MATLAB/R14SP3/MATLABDesktop.xml  had corrupted.
