Summary: PartyPoker doesn't start Product: Wine Version: 1.3.25 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: niklas0911@gmail.com
Hi, I hope this is the right area to post my problem. If I start the PartyPoker-client, I don't get any feedback from the PartyPoker Server. It just appears a splash screen with "Preparing connection". But all in all I can't gamble. It has to be a wine error, because the web client of PartyPoker works quite well. But I need some features of the normal client, so it would be nice, if you could try to solve this... Thanks in advance!!

--- Comment #3 from Louis Lenders xerox_xerox2000@yahoo.co.uk 2011-08-06 07:45:44 CDT --- Does it make any difference if you start the game by:
wine PartyGaming.exe -P=PartyPoker
btw, PartyPoker doesn't install for me anymore in newest wine-1.1.26 due to some regression. I'll open another bug for that

'winetricks wininet' works around the install regression, fwiw.

Hi Niels, first cd into the directory where the program resides (e.g. cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/PartyGaming/ , then run wine PartyGaming.exe -P=PartyPoker

--- Comment #7 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2013-11-13 16:50:33 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 2 years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.6 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.6 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).

--- Comment #8 from Maik Wagner maiktapwagner@aol.com --- Hello,
the client itself seems to have changed over time but as far as connecting to the PartyPoker servers is concerned I am also having problems (a browser window opens up after a certain time mentioning connection problems).
I got the client from here: http://de.partypoker.com/download.html
