Bug ID: 52906 Summary: Regression: Dorfromantik (via Steam) Fails to Launch; Gives "File Not Found" Error Product: Wine Version: 7.7 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: sklein@codeweavers.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 72290 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=72290 terminal output
Attempting to launch Dorfromantik with Steam results in a "File Not Found" error, and the game does not launch. It was working with wine 7.0, and stopped working with wine 7.6. I ran a bisect, which identified commit 4240e71a350b as the culprit. The issue is still present on 7.7.

--- Comment #1 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- Are you sure this is the right commit? It doesn't seem related... That commit is also between wine-7.0 and wine-7.1, so something doesn't add up here. You said it broke in wine-7.6?

--- Comment #2 from Samantha Humphrey sklein@codeweavers.com --- I've done some more digging and I am still finding an issue, although it appears to be pretty inconsistent.
I initially tested Dorfromantik via Steam on wine 7.0 and it was working. I switched to 7.6 and found the error, then retested 7.0, which was still working. A few days later I repeated this process with wine 7.7. Found the error there, retested 7.0, found the game launching.
Now, however, if I go back and test on 7.0, I am seeing the error there as well.
I tested all 3 wine versions on a new prefix where I bypassed Steam and ran the game executable directly, and in that case, the game launches consistently. If I run the game from that new prefix via Steam, I get the error on all 3 wine versions. If I run the game directly from Dorfromantik.exe in my old prefix, it launches successfully, so it seems as though the issue may be with Steam?
Either way, I can consistently get the error so there is something going wrong, but if it's not a priority for wine, please feel free to close this bug.
