Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003 which showed correct icons under wine 1.1.28
has black icons under wine 1.1.32. Also the mouse cursor is broken now (it is
purple with a dark shadow), it was also normal under 1.1.28

Mandriva 2008.1 32-bit, video ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE] (rev
01), x11-driver-video-ati-6.10.0-1mdv2008.1,

Two things in one bug report = no good ;)

Probably duplicate of bug #20360 - see attachment in comment #9. The other
issue i definitely saw in some bug reports (something like black icons in
context menu, if memory serves me well ~ yep not so bad see bug 20536).

It might be useful to retest this on other drivers / other card. I expect that
the issue is an XRender bug in your display drivers.

I can reproduce the same issues with 16-bit graphic modes on my ATI-card;
24-bit works fine, though (see comment #16 of bug 20589). Also assuming a
graphics-driver glitch.

Can you retry this on latest Wine git? The issue might be over now in Wine.
(not sure if it is a Wine bug though)

Not fixed with wine-1.1.38-314-gcce35e2 for me. I won't have access to the
ATI-laptop for some months, but it also happens with this card:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)

I also think this is a duplicate of bug 20360.

I'd vote for marking this bug invalid. The purple cursor is a strong sign that
a 16 bit gfx mode was used here (purple cursor was fixed - bug 20360). Using
such a mode, I also get a few black icons with another application
(ProjectOne), but even on an Intel graphics card, so the title is not
apropriate (might be an alpha channel thing). Checked with wine 1.1.41.

Cursor issue is a duplicate. If you can still reproduce the other issue file a
