Summary: Evernote 4.0 Autoupdate won't install the update. Likewise stand alone reinstalls. Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: martin_packer@uk.ibm.com
Using the Evernote 4.0 Autoupdate function it will download the update but it won't install it. Likewise downloading 4.0 afresh won't install if Evernote 4.0 has already been installed. (Renaming .wine - as a drastic step - is a circumvention which works.)

--- Comment #2 from Adam Smith scradam@gmail.com 2010-11-20 07:09:46 CST --- Hi
I am having the same problem upgrading from Evernote 4.0.1.2927 to 4.0.2. I am running ubuntu 10.10, 2.6.32-26-386 and wine 1.3.6.
I just conducted the following test
1. Start Evernote (launches OK) 2. Go to Help / Check for updates (wizard pops up) 3. Proceed through the wizard to install (appears OK but seems fast, evernote then restarts) 4. Check version through Help / About (still shows as 4.0.1).
If I allow it to remind me to upgrade on startup and follow it's prompts I see the same behaviour.
After tailing the output I think the failure happens around the below point:
└─(13:08:%)── err:msi:ACTION_CallDllFunction Custom action (L"C:\users\adam\Temp\msi2dc4.tmp":L"ExitEvernoteApplications") caused a page fault: c0000005 fixme:msi:msi_unimplemented_action_stub MsiUnpublishAssemblies -> 2 ignored L"MsiAssembly" table values fixme:mscoree:GetCORVersion (0x33f4bc, 260, 0x33f8cc): semi-stub! fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 900a4 (device=9 access=0 func=29 method=0)
I will attached the full debug output.

Is this still an issue in 1.6-rc2 or higher or is this abandoned ?
