Sketchup started using the command in the Sketchup icon

I am attempting to run Sketchup7 from Wine 1.1.25 under Ubuntu 9.04 (Gnome). I
have installed winetricks, and done the OPEN-GL fix.

Sketchup loaded under Wine, but when running the program, while the toolbars
and menus all display correctly, the work area remains blank (black). The
cursor displays in the work area, but when you draw with it, there aren't any
lines.

I assumed this was a problem which required the use of a new graphics card
until last week when, after downloading lots of updates, Sketchup began to work
the correct way, the display was white with the axis lines showing. I decided I
wanted a different template, so I changed it and re-started Sketchup. After
re-starting, the work area was once again blank (black).

I can confirm the same blank (black) screen on Google SketchUp 7.0.10247 and
wine 1.1.27~winehq0~ubuntu~9.04-0ubuntu1

Any known workarounds?

I get the same using:

Sketchup 7.1.4871
Wine 1.1.28
Ubuntu 8.04
Video Card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950

And after getting the OpenGL error and then setting HW_OK to 1 in regedit.  I
first tried in Wine 1.1.32 but then regressed to 1.1.28 in hopes of that
working.

Using:
HW amd64
Ubuntu Karmic 9.10
Compiz 0.8.4 - I've tried it in both cases (Compiz on and off) - NO CHANGE
Wine 1.1.34
NVIDIA Driver Version 185.18.36

I got rid of this problem by buying a cheap Nvidia video card to replace the
onboard video.

On to the next problem!

Hi there,

Just in case this is useful...

I have a slightly different problem (intermittent blanking of the work area,
re-appears during scene rotate), however I unintentionally recreated the
described bug by setting the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11
Driver\ClientSideWithRender" registry key to "N".

I'm running: 
Ubuntu 12.04 (precise)
winetricks 20120912 
Wine 1.5.14
Sketchup 8.0.15158

Video: Intel Sandybridge Mobile (GT2+)

I'll try to add this somewhere more appropriate but I managed to fix my
intermittent blanking problems by setting the
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver\ClientSideGraphics" key to "N".

(The "X11 Driver" key is not present by default, you will have to add it to the
Wine key).

I can't reproduce this, resolving 'fixed'.
