Summary: Lotro fails to start with error code 122 Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc3 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: creonnoir@netscape.net
Created an attachment (id=13602) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=13602) Screenshot of error message
Installed lotro book 13 under a fresh ubuntu 8.04 installation, with wine 1.0rc3 on a Dell Inspiron 8500 with a Radeon 9000 video card. Used the linux gui launcher and could connect to account. The game itself fails to load and gives a 122 error code - see attached screenshot.
No changes were made to the default install until the game would not load. Then I tried setting the registry settings recommended for the game, same error received. Installed DirectX9, same error received. Game worked well under winxp on the same laptop.

At first look it seems to be your problem. Installing DirectX over Wine will not aid at all.
Did you tried to run another game before posting a bug?

What drivers are you using? radeon? fglrx?
Whatever drivers Ubuntu installs in 8.04. I don't know that much about the drivers linux uses... If you can explain how to find out I will post what I find.

--- Comment #4 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-06-05 13:49:07 --- The X config is in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Just attach the output from the glxinfo command. It'll give more info than just the name of the driver.

--- Comment #6 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-06-07 00:00:41 --- You might have better luck with the fglrx driver. It looks like you're using a pretty old card there...

--- Comment #7 from Athrun samurai_no_densetsu@yahoo.es 2008-06-23 04:44:22 --- This bug should be closed as almost for sure is a driver problem (not wine fault).

Ok, can you move/close it to the driver section? Or give me instructions on how to do that, this is my first time filing a bug here :) Thanks.

Please set it as INVALID on the "Resolve bug, changing resolution to:" selector.
