[Bug 11160] New: regression: PAF 5 installer hangs in menu builder

The Personal Ancestral File (PAF) 5 installer hangs near the end of the
procedure.  Several processes are left behind, the last two being menu builder
processes.  Most processes show a wchan of pipe_wait.  This is the first time
this symptom (or anything similar) has been seen.  I'll try to attach the
output of 'ps augxww' and the wchan info.

This is the output of 'ps augxww' after waiting several minutes for the last
part of the installation procedure to finish.  It shows the Wine-related
processes that are stuck.

It installs fine here. Did you you (re)move ~/.wine before trying?

Winemenubuilder does wait until everything else finished. You sure you clicked
one last "ok" button in the installer?

I use environment variable WINEPREFIX to set the path to the prefix area.  Yes,
I did remove the old prefix area before starting the installation.  In  fact, I
did two separate installations yesterday and three times today, starting with
removing the old prefix area.

Yes, I made sure to click the last "Finish" or "OK" button at the end of
installation, each of the five times.

One other thing I had forgotten to write down in the initial report.  On some
installations, after I click the last button, the IKernel.exe and wineserver
processes go CPU bound for about a minute (on a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 "A"
(Northwood, if I'm informed correctly)).

In case it might help, I'll attach the screen messages that show up before the
hang.

screen (stdout, stderr) messages before the hang

These are the screen (stdout, stderr) messages just before the hang.  I don't
recall seeing the ones about "err:menubuilder:fork_and_wait wineshelllink
returned 1" ever before.

No, the symptoms went away when I switched to 0.9.54 or 0.9.55 (I don't
remember which).
