--- Comment #1 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- Please update at least to wine 1.8-rc1 and try again. Is the application legally available for download somewhere so others can try to reproduce the issue?

--- Comment #3 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- I downloaded and install the last WineHQ version 1.8-rc3 on my Ubuntu Studio 15.10 installation, and this ZaraRadio issue remains exactly the same.
So... It is a serious crashing issue.

--- Comment #4 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- Created attachment 53034 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=53034 ZaraRadio error report
Here is the error report ZaraRadio gives when the crash happens.
Remember it is when the program has to change from a playlist to another one (stopping the current song, if there is one "on-the-air"; erasing all the elements of the current playlist; load the new playlist; play the first song of the list).
Please, somebody who can fix it, please!!!
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39677
--- Comment #5 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- What are the steps to reproduce? How do you add 2 playlists and make it choose one or the other?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39677
--- Comment #6 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- When we use ZaraRadio in the manual mode, we can have up to 4 different playlists, because ZaraRadio has up to 4 music players, which can play at the same time, all of them!
The problem is when we use ZaraRadio in auto mode (not human action)!!!
For example: let's say ZaraRadio is playing a tango music program (playlist with tango music only). It has to be played from 20:00 to 21:00 Hrs. each day.
When the 21:00 hr is achieved, then ZaraRadio has to perform the following actions:
1) To end the current tango program (to stop the current song and to jump to the tango program ending audio file).
2) To play the 21:00 hrs advertising block (sequence file).
3) To play the next program presentation audio file.
4) To erase the tango playlist, from the main player window, and to load the next program playlist.
Here, in the 4th point, is when ZaraRadio crashes and that's all (all audio is out).
Remember playlists are text files, as the standard *.m3u files, with all the audio files (songs) we want to play.
For a reason I can't understand, ZaraRadio can not to handle the playlists in Linux as it does in Windows. Something is wrong in this point.
This is the great issue!!!
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39677
--- Comment #7 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- I think I understand all theory you described. But aside from that we need the steps to reproduce the bug, same question from the other bug.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39677
--- Comment #8 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- OK.
1) First of all, you have to create song playlists (2, at least). For example: one playlist with country music, and the other list with reggeaton music. You can create it directly from the main player window of ZaraRadio, or with Audacious, or with WinAmp, or any other audio player which can create *.m3u playlists.
2) Then you have to load one of the lists into the main player window. To this, you have to use the Open button (second button from the left into the top toolbar).
You can get the crash with one of the following ways:
1) In manual mode (human action). With one of the playlists loaded into the main window, try to manually change to the other playlist (Open button). It doesn't matter if you have played a song or not, the crash is inmediately.
2) In automatic mode (not human action). You have to create events into the Events panel to schedule the playlists. For example, schedule the first playlist to be played at 14:00 hrs. Then, schedule the second playlist to be played at 14:30 hrs. Please, don't forget to save the scheduled events, just in case. To work with events, please, read the ZaraRadio help manual (event the fact that it is very easy, it's good to read it, just in case). Play the events. When the program reaches the time to change from one playlist to another, it will crash inmediately.

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39677
--- Comment #13 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- Whatever, you can load the playlists into the ZaraRadio main player only, and just only, if this player is empty (no playlist on it).
If you have a playlist in the player (even in stop mode, non audio file is played), when you click on the "Open" button (to load a new playlist), you will get the crash inmediately.
Also you get the crash when you use the "New" button with a playlist into the player.
Something is wrong with these ZaraRadio commands. Maybe something related with the fact that ZaraRadio has to work through WineHQ to access the file system (under Windows, I assume that ZaraRadio works directly with the Windows File Manager, not the same under Linux).
Of course, it's my guess (I'm not a programmer, I'm just guessing).
Such a issue!!!

Hi, I haven't got a clue, i'm not familiar with common controls. As I said, you can use "winetricks comctl32" to work around the the crash (the app uses native comctl32.dll in that case) until a developer (hopefully) fixes this bug. Regards

--- Comment #29 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- WOAH!!! Thanks a lot for your advice.
I installed the comctl32.dll library, using the "RUN" option from the main menu:
WINETRICKS COMCTL32.DLL
And...
VOILA!!!
Now, there is no crash!!!
Now, all work so fine, here!!!!!!!
I don't know if report it as the last solution (full fixed), but, in my two PCs (one with Ubuntu Studio 15.10, the other with Lubuntu 15.10, both with WineHQ 1.9.0) ZaraRadio is working so fine, now!!!
Thanks a lot to all those help me with this!!!!!!!

Not really, installing a dll using winetricks is just a workaround. Until wine is fixed the bug should remain open.

--- Comment #36 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- Today, Saturday, Jan, 9, 2016, there was an upgrade of WineHQ. I don't know if that is the reason but... the work around about COMCTL32.DLL doesn't work, now.
I tried with native, internal, and all the options, and... Nothing!!! The crash is still there.
What's wrong here? ???

--- Comment #37 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- I was talking about the upgrade from WineHQ 1.9.0 to 1.9.1.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39677
--- Comment #38 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- Definitively, there is something wrong with the "new" COMCTL32.DLL (if somebody changed some on that).
I downgraded to the WinHQ 1.9.0 and... ZaraRadio crashed the same as before the comctl32.dll workaround.
BUT... up to yesterday (Friday, Jan, 8, 2016) ZaraRadio worked so fine!!!
So... Something was changed from yesterday to today (I guess it is about the comctl32.dll file).
Any idea? ???

Hi, I don't think anything changed in wine. Just try running "winetricks comctl32" again, or check using "winecfg" that comctl32 is set to native. On my computer using native comctl32 still works around the crash ( using wine-1.9.1) Regards
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39677
--- Comment #40 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- I did it!!!
I tried with "winetricks comctl32.dll", and... NOTHING!!!
I tried with "winecfg" and all the options about libraries, and... NOTHING!!!
I don't know which Ubuntu you use, but in my Ubuntu Studio 15.10, 4.2.0-23-LowLatency, and WineHQ 1.9.1, ZaraRadio is crashing each time I click on the "NEW" (list) button, again.
I insist that before the upgrade from Wine 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 the crashing was fixed.
Something happened with that upgrade (I tried to come back to 1.9.0, but the crash is still present).
Can we know if the "comctl32.dll" was changed (to test it, or something)?
If it was changed, How can I recover the old version? ???

--- Comment #41 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- You've messed up the wineprefix somehow. Delete it and start over.

--- Comment #46 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- Because a lot of "rare" behaviors, I decided to format the Ubuntu partition of my main desktop PC and I installed all Ubuntu Studio 15.10 OS "from the scratch".
Of course, I had to re-installed a lot of software, including WineHQ 1.9.1.
Even the fact that all is new here, now... the ZaraRadio crash is still here.
I really don't know what is wrong here.
I used "winetricks comctl32.dll" and I use the "Windows XP" (with the comctl32.dll library) option. But... The crash is immediately when I click the "NEW" button.
SO... Any idea, will be welcome.

Just a custom. Don't know if it is good or bad, but just a custom.
I can not to access the program's directory (into /.wine/ directory) from the Terminal session. Is there a way to that? ???

Don't run wine as root!!!
From your log:

"Houston, we have a problem."
When I write su (login name) ~/.wine/drive_c/'Program Files (x86)'/ZaraSoft/ZaraRadio/
The system tells me: "bash: cd: file or directory doesn't exist"
But, these directories are here!!!
So...

I perform the line: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="comctl32=n" wine ZaraRadio.exe

Hi jotape, I guess your whole wine-setup is screwed up because you ran wine /created directories as root? My advise would be, remove your whole ~/.wine (at least, if it does not contain any valueable stuff), login as normal user, and reinstall Zararadio.

But...
1) I only have one account on my PC: The Administrator (Maybe Root?) Account.
2) Everything I do into my PC, I do it with that account.
So...
How can I use wine without that account? ???

BTW: Up Win 1.9.0, it was the same: access all the PC with that account, And ZaraRadio worked so fine!!!!!!!
All this problem began when Wine changed from 1.9.0 to 1.9.1.

--- Comment #69 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- I'm not 100% sure, but I think I got a way to "fix" it:
I use winetricks, from the main menu RUN option.
Then, when the winetricks window was opened, I chose "Select the default wineprefix"
Then, I chose "Install a Window DLL or component"
Then, I chose the "infamous" comctl32.dll (only that option).
When winetricks ended to install it, I opened ZaraRadio and... Voila! There is no crash, now!!!
Of course, I only tested it in my laptop PC. Tomorrow I will test it on the other PCs. I hope this solution works on all the PCs.
Well, it is something, I think.
Yes, I know it is not the final real solution, but... it is something!!!

--- Comment #70 from jotape1960 jotape1960@yahoo.com --- OK. I tested the solution before in all the other PCs, and it worked in all of them!!!
I guess the command: WINETRICKS COMCTL32.DLL and the WINECFG window (to change a library) didn't work in my system, I don't know why.
The "infamous" COMCTL32.DLL had been downloaded and installed with the procedure I wrote in the previous comment.
Well, the good thing is ZaraRadio is working so fine, now!!!
Thanks a lot to all of those helped me on this issue!!!
Greetings & Blessings from Chile!!!!!!!

I found the cause of this issue. Could you try this patch? After preparing test cases, I'll send both of them to wine-patches.
Technical details: This bug is in LVM_SETITEMCOUNT message handler, listview control. When the item count is reduced, current code updates the previous focused item. However the item is no longer valid at this point.

I'm new into this Wine world under Linux (even very new to all the Linux world, too!!!), and I know next May will be a very great upgrading of Linux. So... I wonder if all these issues that are fixed, now... Will be work without problems with the May Linux upgrading? ???
