I can't reproduce this issue easily... Do you have a screenshot that would illustrate what you mean?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43319
--- Comment #2 from Robert Walker bob.mt.wya@gmail.com --- Is this with: Steam build date 6 Jul 2017
Or: Steam build date 11 Jul 2017 ??
The 11 Jul 2017 client is a re-release of the 6 Jul 2017 client update. The 11 Jul 2017 client includes a change log entry: "Fixed missing game names for users with large Steam libraries"
Maybe an issue that is not specific to Wine?

I have the second update and the issue is still occurring for me.

--- Comment #5 from mvvvv mvidal0001@gmail.com --- I confirm this problem.
Wine-staging 1.12 solved the new steam build crashing. The games can be launched but no more text in the forums.
without -no-cef-sandbox no web page at all (normal for years)
with -no-cef-sandbox the web pages are drawn but text are missing here and there
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43319 Bug 43319 depends on bug 43315, which changed state.

--- Comment #6 from rmuncrief@humanavance.com --- I can confirm that text no longer appears in the Steam store as of 7/11/2017. As others have reported dragging the mouse over menus and text boxes highlights the areas but there's no text.
I have a patched version of wine-staging 2.10 that fixes the Steam crash, and the current wine-staging 2.12, and text doesn't appear in the Steam store using either version. So it must have something to do with the latest Steam update, as I know for certain that the text used to be fine with 2.10 until the last few days.
I'm running wine-staging 2.10 and 2.12 under Xubuntu 16.04 with a 64 bit Windows 7 prefix.

--- Comment #7 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- Looks like it only happens with Win7 version, works for me with WinXP.

--- Comment #8 from Sebastian Lackner sebastian@fds-team.de --- The same problem also affects Uplay since a recent update. Changing the subject to target both applications. For Steam, a possible workaround is to use Windows XP mode. For Uplay there is no longer any way to run the application when the Windows version is set to XP.

--- Comment #15 from plata@mailbox.org --- In case you need CEF debug output to investigate this (for Uplay): It's possible to use the CEF command line parameters (see "CefSettings" on https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/cef/wiki/GeneralUsage) with upc.exe.
So for example: wine upc.exe --log-file=cef.log --log-severity=verbose

There's only 6 commits between these builds. What breaks it; https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git/+/92255dae474d7290f2fed43... Which leads to the important changes; https://skia-review.googlesource.com/c/skia/+/9145
Here's a dirty hack for starters, fixes missing texts from Steam, Uplay and others.

Thank you. Relevant Skia comment is this:
--- // DWRITE_TEXTURE_ALIASED_1x1 is now misnamed, it must also be used with grayscale. fTextureType = DWRITE_TEXTURE_ALIASED_1x1; fAntiAliasMode = DWRITE_TEXT_ANTIALIAS_MODE_GRAYSCALE; ---
I'll add some tests for that.

--- Comment #21 from rmuncrief@humanavance.com --- Hmmm ... well I'm not sure what to do here. I finally had some time and compiled Wine Staging 2.16 with the patch today and it didn't fix the Steam store, but I see it's already been marked fixed.
Just to sure I redid the entire compile process twice. But unless I run the Steam Store in XP mode there aren't any fonts.
