Summary: Stack limits error, hardware incompatibility? Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc4 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dav666666@gmail.com
Hello. I'm trying to play GunZ : The Duel. Don't delete this bug because you think it's game related. It is not. Why? Everyone got the game working. Except me. I tried reinstalling the whole system and it crashed on a fresh install too. I tried on my brother's computer and it worked without any problem. All this make me think it's a hardware related problem but I need your help to determine which of my hardware is causing trouble. I explained my problem on GunZ page on Winedb: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=12057, it is the comment called "Stack limits"
I hope you will find a fix, GunZ is the last game that makes deleting windows from my computer impossible...
Sorry for english, I'm belgian, I did my best to write correct sentences...

I know it's not support forum. I think my problem is related to one of my hardware unsupported, or bad supported by wine. I want to know exactly what causes the crash, not just for the fun, but to fix a problem with wine, simply. I didn't know where I could get help for this so I decided to ask here, sorry if it's considered as a mistake, but I was unable to find another way as noone on the #winehq chan could help me.
I added the complete output as an attachment to this bug, but only the last lines are related to the crash...

What distro? Is compiz and pulseaudio disabled? What video driver version?
Ubuntu 8.04. It crashes even when Compiz isn't running. How can I stop pulseaudio for testing? I'm using the last driver in the ubuntu proprietary drivers repository I think, it's the one installed by the Settings/Prorietary drivers menu.

It's missing an edit option... It worked on my brother's computer which was a fresh Ubuntu 8.04 install, with Compiz and PulseAudio running ans the same video driver as mine. I don't know who renamed this bug, but it is not really at startup. The game is launched, that's when I entered my username and my password, I click "Connect" and then it crashes.

Is this still an issue in current (1.1.10) or newer wine?
EuroGunZ just simply doesn't work anymore at all. Like I warned in GunZ Beta Europe appdb page, admins have finally added a anti-hack software, which is blocking wine... I THINK this is the current problem, I'm not sure of it but it would be strange coincidence that when they add an anti-hack, game crashes with "Start Error" popup message...
