Bug ID: 45367 Summary: GraphicsRulesMaker crashes at startup Product: Wine Version: 3.10 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: haakobja@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 61677 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=61677 Debug log for GraphicsRulesMaker
Hi!
I'm trying to get GraphicsRulesMaker to start, but it is currently crashing at startup.
GraphicsRulesMaker is an application for adding support for newer hardware to The Sims 2 and SimCity 4 and It can be downloaded from the following site: https://www.simsnetwork.com/tools/graphics-rules-maker.
I've tried both verision 1.1.0 and 1.9.0, but both crashes at startup.
Even though I'm using PlayOnLinux, I'm running the Wine-version that's in the Fedora repositories.

--- Comment #1 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- Looks like bug 45199.
Does it work when run with WINEDEBUG=+relay ? Because it does for me.

--- Comment #2 from Håkon haakobja@gmail.com --- That's weird. Setting WINEDEBUG=+relay worked.. Could it be because of a race condition somewhere? Because setting +relay works, and it slows the execution quite a bit due to excessive logging.

Nope, dupe of 45199.

--- Comment #4 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
following bug 45199 I have built Wine 3.11 (aka Wine for Workgroups) with CFLAGS -O2 and Gcc 8.x (Fedora 28).
The app starts fine for me (shows some dialog/property pages).

There is something different going on here, maybe ArchLinux specific.

--- Comment #5 from Håkon haakobja@gmail.com --- I built a custom build of Wine 3.11 yesterday with gcc-8.1.1 and it's working without any other modifications.
However, the version in the Fedora repositories does not work.. So I guess it is built with gcc <= 8.1.0 or something.
