Regardless of whether it worked or not before, we do not support this setup. You have to install the app in Wine, using Wine. Once you verify that the app works in 0.9.49 and doesn't work in git (installed using Wine for both), you should do a regression test to find the commit that caused this bug:

--- Comment #4 from martin brinkmann mnb@martin-brinkmann.de 2008-02-14 13:08:12 --- just to make things (hopefully) a little clearer: it is happening with any version of wine > 0.9.49, including 0.9.55. the same ps6. installation that was working fine in wine 0.9.49 stops working when a newer version of wine is installed. it is working again when i remove wine and reinstall 0.9.49. without touching anything else.

That may be true, but it is not supported to simply copy the installation folder from windows. Please install the app in wine 0.9.49 (after removing ~/.wine), and see if it works. If so, then try wine 0.9.50, and if broken, please run the regression test:

--- Comment #6 from Dmitry Timoshkov dmitry@codeweavers.com 2008-02-14 22:35:04 --- Just for the record: I'm regularly installing/using Photoshop 6.0 to test various things reported in Wine Bugzilla, it works just fine with 0.9.55 and has been that way for several years. Installation takes not more than 2 minutes.
