Summary: Most applications in Wine unable to access the network Product: Wine Version: 0.9.39. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: test AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ben@atomnet.co.uk
I'm opening this bug just to make sure people are aware. At the moment it may be an issue with Debian packages (as it only seems to happen in Debian Sid at the moment) but on the other hand (and more worryingly) it could be an incompatibility with a newer library that Sid uses that Wine doesn't work correctly with.
Basically most applications in Wine (STEAM, Firefox, game auto-updates, etc) are unable to access the network claiming the address(s) cannot be found. Using an earlier version of Wine doesn't have any effect, still the same issues.
Setting the component to "test" until we figure out what is actually broken.
Link to the bug in the Debian system is : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=430845
Hopefully this is just a bug in one of the Debian packages and not an issue with Wine and a newer version of a specific library (or libraries).
