Summary: Microsoft Word 2000 crash on pressing TAB key in a table cell Product: Wine Version: 1.1.15 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: richedit AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: Ristioja@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=19694) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=19694) Console output from running Word to reproduce the crash, before closing up with Ctrl+C.
Microsoft Word from Office 2000 becomes unresponsive after pressing the TAB key when the cursor is in a table cell. The application remains on the screen, and Wine processes are left running.
As far as I know the first time this occured was last Tuesday on a Ubuntu 8.04 system using the Wine repositories for Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron". This bug can be reproduced. For more backtraces, debugging wine etc, ready to help, but please instruct. May become quite urgent.

Separately, please attach a +richedit trace.

--- Comment #2 from Jaak Ristioja Ristioja@gmail.com 2009-02-27 13:17:10 --- Ok, this is no longer this urgent. I discovered that this crash only occured when the WordFast.dot (http://www.wordfast.net/index.php?whichpage=downloadpage&VLTM=VLTM&p...) template/add-in was active in Word. Disabling it prevented such crashes.
Anyway. First how do I install the debugging symbols under Kubuntu (there is no wine-dbg package)? Secondly, should I then run "WINEDEBUG=+richedit wine WINWORD.EXE" ?

Is this still an issue in current (1.1.29 or newer) wine? If so, try wine-dev. Otherwise, compile from source.
Yes, that's the command.

I'm sorry, but I'm unable to pursue this bug any further for non-technical reasons.
