Hi,
from Version 5.17 on, current Version 5.19, no Battlefield game i tested can't start. Tested with wine-staging Version 5.17, 5.18 and 5.19. I attached a crash dump file.
Wine-staging Version 5.16 works perfect for all BF Games i tested so far.
Thank you for your support.
All the Best :-) lle

--- Comment #1 from Zebediah Figura z.figura12@gmail.com --- Is this bug present with upstream Wine? [Please see also https://wiki.winehq.org/Wine-Staging#Reporting_and_debugging_bugs_against_Staging.]

--- Comment #3 from lle llenort@aol.com --- Hi, you are right, sorry. I tested with current wine 5.19 and the Problem exists with normal wine too.
I have to check older versions of wine to repeat the test. I think from wine version 5.17 there are a problem starting BF Games form the Origin Client.
Thanks, lle

--- Comment #5 from lle llenort@aol.com --- Hi,
tested further and maybe there is a problem with the this patch in combination with BF? I'm not really sure but it looks like BF V crash when request the display device or it's properties.
Maybe it's important too, i use the lasted dxvk version.
I think someone with better vulkan know how can take a deeper look.
Here are the sniplets form the patch and the backtrace dump (BF V Start).
Thank you and all the Best. lle

--- Comment #6 from lle llenort@aol.com --- Hi,
tested wine/wine-staging version 5.22 and the mentioned problems seems to be fixed. Can use BF1, BF4, BFV with no error and winex11 exception :-)
I'm not sure but i think the honor goes to Zhiyi Zhang and his patch:
Zhiyi Zhang (3): user32/tests: Pass a struct DEVMODEA pointer to expect_dm() for monitor tests. winex11.drv: Adjust the priority of NoRes display settings handler to 1. winex11.drv: Clarify parent in struct x11drv_win_data comments.
Thank you! This bug is fixed and can be closed :-)
All the Best lle
