Summary: VirtualDub: crash when opening `Compression...' dialog Product: Wine Version: 1.1.42 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: msvcrt AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: t0p0linik@yahoo.it
Created an attachment (id=27609) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=27609) wine log when VirtualDub freezes
In latest vdub 1.9.9 I can't select compression codec because the main window becomes unresponsive, it just freezes. Running vdub from the command line gives me more infos about what goes wrong, it complains about some unimplemented function related to msvcr80.dll (see the log). Anyway, I worked it around installing "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)" (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-...) which provides the complete official set of libraries but is this expected? Or should wine itself provide these features?

--- Comment #1 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2010-04-29 05:01:53 --- Those unimplemented functions are implemented in the latest development version of Wine (1.1.43), so please retest with builtin msvcr80.dll.

I don't have such problem.
I took VirtualDub v1.9.9 opened some avi file, go into menu: Video -> Compression
Window normally opens, i can click "about" for one codec and than OK, which puts me back to the video editor.
Tested in clean wine environment under: * 1.1.30, 1.1.42, 1.1.43
and it's OK in every above mentioned version.

--- Comment #3 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com 2010-06-10 14:34:53 --- Both:
--- msvcr80.dll.__clean_type_info_names_internal, msvcr80.dll._except_handler4_common, aborting ---
are implemented indeed. So please try with a 1.2-rc2.
@Wylda: probably it's about some codec/plugin you don't have, so it doesn't fail for you.
