Summary: Cannot change my E-mail address Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jan-winehq@hoogenraad.net
I tried to change my E-mail address in the apps database to my net E-mail address. The new E-mail address is the same as now already in use for WINEHQ/Bugzilla.
WINEHQ/AppDB does not let me change the E-mail address to the new address, as it indicates the name is already in use. However, WINEHQ/AppDB DOES allow me to login already with the new address, so apparently it has already been set up as some kind of alias.
I puzzled, and unable to find a way to rectify this, as I see no option in the ¨preferences¨ screen.

--- Comment #3 from Jan Hoogenraad jan-winehq@h-i-s.nl 2009-06-25 01:54:39 --- I've tried to change my e-mail address once, and now get into all kinds of other trouble.
http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=account In the "Name and Password" area I now CANNOT change my E-mail address back into my preferred address. It now only displays a "confirmed address" (it was blank the previous time, and thus I could change it !), and there is no edit field anymore.
Furthermore, the help link on that page does not work. http://bugs.winehq.org/docs/html/userpreferences.html

--- Comment #6 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2009-06-25 10:45:48 --- Confirming.
Created a new account (because I don't want to mess with this one). At this point I can change my email address. Changed email address. At this point the email address can no longer be changed.
After the email address is changed, it is marked as "confirmed" and can not be changed further.
This is probably an option in Bugzilla somewhere. Can this be switched off?

--- Comment #7 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2009-06-25 20:35:42 --- First what's on the screen shot is bugzilla not AppDB. Second, it's an option to allow or disallow e-mail change. I'm guessing it's disallowed now.

--- Comment #9 from Jan Hoogenraad jan-winehq@h-i-s.nl 2009-06-26 02:03:39 --- Oh my. The original bug report was on the AppDB. I have now verified the originally reported problem to be resolved. When I tried to reproduce the problem, I mistakenly went to bugzilla, and found another problem. Excuse me for the confusion. Thank you Vitaly & Ken for adjusting the administration to reflect this.
