Created an attachment (id=13866) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=13866) Yahoo! Messenger output
With Wine version wine-1.0-rc4-29-g035f1dd, when attempting to login, the beta client simply hangs and does not progress with login. I've logged the standard error with wininet traces when attempting to login and then subsequently closing the client.

--- Comment #2 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr 2008-07-29 04:23:07 --- For me, it does not hang. Just, I can not login. When I give my username and password, yahoo tries to log in and the fails. It asks to me if I want to change my username/password, create one...

--- Comment #3 from Lloyd Severence lloydseverence@gmail.com 2008-12-04 10:43:03 --- The same behavior is semi present for me.
I enter my information and tell it to login. It does not login, it hangs for a few moments and then tells me that my login info is incorrect.

--- Comment #6 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2009-01-11 09:41:42 --- I'm seeing the same problem. (I also tried "winetricks winsock", no change.)
It's tempting to log the win32 calls on windows (with e.g. windows logger from http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/DevTools/Debugging ) and see what's supposed to happen after the server's response is received...

--- Comment #7 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-01-20 02:39:11 --- Removing deprecated CVS/GIT version tag. Please retest in current git. If the bug is still present in today's wine, but was not present in some earlier version of wine, please update version field to earliest known version of wine that had the bug. Thanks!

Well then this is obviously a critical not a normal.

--- Comment #13 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2009-03-23 10:56:46 --- Unless it affects multiple apps, it can't be higher than normal.
What apps does this bug affect besides Yahoo Messenger?

"Critical Critical problem that prevents all applications from working Normal For an application crash or loss of functionality"
Critical = ALL applications Normal = a single application crash

--- Comment #17 from Evil wine@eternaldusk.com 2009-04-11 10:49:58 --- I can confirm that the "hangs on login" bug is no longer present with the current version of Y! Messenger and wine 1.1.19. We can probably close this particular bug.
There are, however many other bugs still to be fixed before it will be useable. For instance, it crashes when you try to send an IM. :) Also, none of the top menu items are present, etc...
