Clean wine drive using wine 1.3.8 using install method of (Tom Wickline) IE7 now takes two to three minutes to load https pages.
I also set up clean wine drive using winetricks method with same results.
OS Open Suse 11.3 x86_64 using wine 32 bit 1.3.8

I also added wsh56 using wine tricks and up through wine 1.3.7 https pages loaded quickly. I up graded to wine 1.3.8 and then https pages slowed to a crawl. I then uninstalled wine 1.3.8 reinstalled wine 1.3.8 reinstalled IE7 in clean wine drive using the same method with same results I tried adding wininet with wine tricks same results. I then set up clean wine drive using wine tricks IE7 install method also same results added wininet no change. Regular http pages seam to load fine no slow down

After a week of the crossover team testing there software they where able to reproduce the problem. It seems it is only a problem in some but not all 64 bit installs of Open Suse.

I tested with two financial institutions and it was, indeed, really slow.

Firefox has no problem.
