I went to open a folder in the program SynthFont and it deleted the entire
folder with no traces of it anywhere it also happened with my folder of music
that had 2.4GB of music that I was going to put on my phone so is there any way
to recover those files and folders it has deleted? also the program never did
this before till now

I’m on wine version 1.7-i386 download SynthFont at
http://www.synthfont.com/#SynthFont
steps to reproduce
1. load your midi file
2. file -> Set Default Soundfont File 
3. browse to the folder where your Soundfont is
4. click on the folder on the left side where the folders are 
that’s how it happens to me

it moved the folders in to home/lunar/.wine/drive_c/Program Files
(x86)/SynthFont/[folder that was supposedly deleted's name here]

Hello folks,

I can't reproduce this.
Even mimicked OP's strange setup/actions from the video.

(folder on Desktop, containing read-only(?!) .SF2 file, doing fake drag'n'drop
which obviously can't work etc.)

Please retest with more recent Wine, preferably Wine 1.7.54

Also avoid unnecessary clicks/moves in videos when providing instructions for
reproducing.
Just the minimal amount that is needed.

For example you could have used the "builtin" 'SYNTHGMS.SF2' and '33H_R&P.MID'
which are present in default install for demonstration.
Otherwise it's hard to reproduce since people don't have the exact files,
permissions etc.

$ sha1sum SynthFontSetup.exe 
4d3aa9185ee4e7bce5b0874f2f22c441be37b69a  SynthFontSetup.exe

$ du -sh SynthFontSetup.exe 
7.1M    SynthFontSetup.exe

$ wine --version
