--- Comment #3 from MichaelOF michaelof@rocketmail.com --- upgraded WINE to stable version 3.0, using a different OpenSuse repository.
- tested at first, again with a new wineprefix, to install as written in APPDB "just run installer" - same error than before
- tested with winetricks msxml3: New error (summarized, from German): MS Office 2010 needs MSXML 6.10.1129.0, please provide and start again ...

As said before, Office 2010 HUP is shipped with an self-extracting .EXE file. For usage on Windows, whyever, I've created and installation DVD with the contained ISO on it.
However, you have to install into WINE with the original self-extracting .EXE file, not with the ISO.
Doing so, everything went smooth, and even the sometimes critical activation worked like a charme.
Not sure if I should close this issue?

Not sure if I should close this issue?
If it`s shipped as a selfextracting exe and that one works in wine I guess you could close this issue as there`s nothing to fix then.
I will do that for now, but please feel free to reopen if you still run into issues.
