Bug ID: 48944 Summary: Default to x86_64 as hardware architecture Product: WineHQ Bugzilla Version: unspecified Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: bugzilla-unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: sashok.olen@gmail.com CC: austinenglish@gmail.com Distribution: ---
The year is 2020 and x86_64 has pretty much completely superseded 32-bit x86 processors with many operating systems dropping 32-bit support left and right, thus Bugzilla should use x86_64 as default value for "Hardware" field for new bug reports, especially since many overlook this field and forget to change it (which is an issue too) or assume that `x86` value includes 64-bit variety of processors as well.

--- Comment #1 from Gijs Vermeulen gijsvrm@gmail.com --- Still an issue as of today.
Austin, is this something an admin has to change? Or is a change in the bugzilla code needed for this? (If so, I tried grepping in the bugzilla source, but didn't really find the right stop to change this)

Sorry, I didn't receive the first mail about this bug.
Anyway, I'm not sure. I can access the list of platforms and add new ones. x86 is shown as the default (and can't be removed or disabled), but I don't see a way to make another platform the default.
I'm in the admin group, and https://bugzilla.readthedocs.io/en/latest/administering/field-values.html implies I should be able to edit things...which I can, just not the default value :/.
@AJ/Newman, can you edit that?

--- Comment #3 from Alexandre Julliard julliard@winehq.org --- It's under Parameters/Bug Fields. I've changed it.
