Bug ID: 45607 Summary: Path of Exile: fails to start Product: Wine Version: 3.13 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: godevilove@ya.ru Distribution: ---
Path of Exile is a free game. https://www.pathofexile.com/downloads/PathOfExileInstaller.exe this is the installer, which downloads game files from the internet and installs the game. Probably, works fine (well, apart from some missing cyrillic fonts and poor background for some elements).
After the game is installed - launching the installed game's exe results into a black screen with error/debug messages shown one after another. They look like this (1 per line, where you see a smiley face - there was a square, as if a broken char). [Failed to create WIC Factory.] ["FONTDFPHeiMedium-B5-POE&Art/2DArt/Fonts/DFPT_B5_POE.ttf

After the game is installed - launching the installed game's exe results into a black screen with error/debug messages shown one after another. They look like this (1 per line, where you see a plus sign - there was a square, as if it was a broken char). [Failed to create WIC Factory.] ["FONTDFPHeiMedium-B5-POE&Art/2DArt/Fonts/DFPT_B5_POE.ttf++": Reference count for loaded resource FONTDFPHeiMedium-B5-POE&Art/2DArt/Fonts/DFPT_B5_POE.ttf++ is 66.] ["FONTSimsun&++": Reference count for loaded resource FONTSimsun&++ is 1.] ... and so on. All of them are about fonts.
After closing the last message - all I see is black screen and my white cursor and I have to switch to another tty to kill the game's process, because Alt-Tab'ing doesn't help.
Console has this:

--- Comment #3 from Kevin Ilphrin Pellet ilphrin@autistici.org --- Hi godevilove,
The `WIC Factory` error is related to a problem with the DirectX 11 implementation, there is multiple ways to escape this:
- Check out this bug: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42695#c15 The patch fixes the problem - Install using Lutris and wine-ge 3.6, this contains the previous patch and more patches - Stay with DirectX 9, but this isn't a very good solution
