Bug #: 30389 Summary: No sound in Poacher Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-dmusic AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mrmcspummbucket@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 39731 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=39731 Some terminal output
No sound in freeware game "Poacher". Terminal output mentions a lot about dmime (see attachment). Appears possibly related to: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25753 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9027 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23373
But since I'm no expert, it should be someone else's decision to say if its a duplicate.
Overriding dmime.dll does give the game sound, but also makes it lag like nothing else, causing it do be unplayable.

--- Comment #2 from Andrew Eikum aeikum@codeweavers.com 2012-04-19 09:37:40 CDT --- By the way, if you install both directmusic and dsound using winetricks, you will get working audio for this game.

--- Comment #3 from Spummy mrmcspummbucket@gmail.com 2012-10-05 03:05:24 CDT --- Just to keep this bug report updated, as of Wine Version 1.5.14 this bug still occurs with seemingly identical terminal output. Installing dmusic with winetricks and overriding the DLL still gets sound working as it did before, but still causes lag everytime a sound is played (other than background noises it seems) and the lags are so strong it makes the game unplayable, as it did when I first reported.
Basically, status quo.

wine-1.7.37-143-g3b2cf06 (git +1 custom patch that has nothing to do with sounds).
