Summary: EVE Premium 4.10.51200 does not render correctly with shadows on Product: Wine Version: 0.9.58. Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: spedrosa@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=11579) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=11579) In station, with shadows detail set to "extreme"
With premium content, if shadows are turned on, rendering errors occur.
I'm attaching some screenshots demonstrating the problem.
There are two shots inside the station, one at the "extreme" detail setting, showing a purple texture all over the screen. The other one was taken at the "normal" setting. It is possible to see more, but there is something clipping the ship.
Two of the shots are taken outside the station, at the "extreme" shadow detail setting. They are very similar shots, taken at different zoom levels. It is possible to see that some of the textures are out of place.

--- Comment #8 from Vorobyov Anton phoenix@mail.ru 2008-07-17 07:46:03 --- I don't have problems when HDR and/or shadows are enabled, using GF8600GT with latest drivers and wine 1.1.1 (this release fixed HDR, and, probably, shadows).
If others will confirm absence of problems i guess this one may be closed as fixed.

--- Comment #9 from maniac jedimastermaniac@hotmail.com 2008-07-18 17:19:16 --- i d stay it's not completely fixed . With 1.1.1 i still had some black station bu VERY FEW . maybe for a little more till next release i guess till it's perfect. with shadows to full though no problem . HDR is a bit tricky yet tested it only set to high though, not med or low bloom

--- Comment #10 from Stephen Eilert spedrosa@gmail.com 2008-07-18 19:32:23 --- Created an attachment (id=14913) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14913) Shadows on("normal" settings)
GEFORCE 8800GT Wine release 1.1.1 (the released version, not from GIT) HDR on Bloom high Shadows normal
The HDR issues appear to be fixed. Bloom is not working, however.
At least for me, shadow issues remain, although they have improved. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate the problem. Anything in the middle of the screen is clipped by that outline. It does not rotate with the camera, so it is possible that it is being incorrectly transformed.

--- Comment #11 from Vorobyov Anton phoenix@mail.ru 2008-07-19 00:36:49 --- Black station? Screenshot please. Devs didn't fix each object explicitly, rather - fixed whole thing as a such. Try to relaunch client on setting changes, usually it helps to bring HDR/shadows working.
Regarding screenshot - as far as i understand even if this issue isn't caused by camera sitting inside ship, it's completely another issue...

I got black stargates (and a black ship), but I cannot reliably reproduce. Restarting the client did fix the issues.

I took the screenshot. No, the camera is not sitting inside the ship. I just positioned it to show that the clipped region is approximates the shape of the ship. It does not rotate with the camera. However, if you zoom in or out, it sometimes disappear off the screen and the objects stop being clipped.
It might be caused by something else, but only manifests with shadows on. I can provide more data, if necessary.

In the normal Zoom (Armed Helios file) you can see the armed and complete helios ^^.
My hardware settings are:
- AMD x2 5200, 1GB RAM Corsair XMS2, nVidia 9800 GT, nVidia drivers 177.82 compiled, Wine 1.1.9 compiled, Slackware 12.1
You can see my Eve test settings in the attachment file "My Settings"
