Are you using Wine 0.9.58? You put 0.9.5 in the bug report.

--- Comment #6 from nick ves vespenegeyser@hotmail.com 2009-02-02 12:12:42 --- What do you mean by "not properly drawn"? can you provide a screenshot?
Im using wine 1.1.14 and the cursor is drawn as it used be.The same goes for versions 1.1.13, 1.1.12 (those are the versions i tried and i didnt had that specific problem"
So just to make it clear: 1.1.14 doesnt suffer from that bug, unless someone can confirm

I'm not sure if this is the same bug opened by the OP but my cursor appears rendered in a translucent white square.
Cant attach a screenshot as I cant get the cursor to appear in a screenshot.

Someone is still experiencing this bug? Please, specify your OS, video card and driver.
I'm using Arch linux now but i was using Debian testing when i made the original post, there's no change between the different distros in respect to the cursor rendering issue.
I've got an ATI RadeonHD 3870, using the closed source driver, the issue still occurs with catalyst 9.4.

Hello there,
I also experience this bug, as reported above by Pete.
There is a square semi-transparent area surrounding the cursor. If you hover over e.g. a building the cursor changes as usual (showing for example the "repair this building" command), but the square remains visible.
The square is always there, from the main game screen to the window asking if you really want to quit DoW DC. The square is about as big as the cursor in length x length.
I play Dawn of War Dark Crusade on Ubuntu 8.10 using the proprietary drivers of ATI (version 9.3) for my Radeon 9700 Pro. Running on the latest version of Wine (1.22) and DoW DC version 1.11.
I tried to make a screenshot but I get a black screen every time.
Thanks very much for all your efforts, it is the one game I really like to play on my PC!

--- Comment #12 from Danila Sentiabov dsent.zen@gmail.com 2009-06-11 13:48:56 --- Unfortunately, it seems to be an ATI [drivers] issue. It should be probably reported to AMD, not Wine. Works fine with Wine 1.1.x on wide range of NVIDIA cards and drivers (specifically 6100 and 6150 onboard cards, 6600 GT, 7850 and 8800 GTS 512 are tested).
If Wine doesn't contain any NVIDIA-specific hacks (those are very unlikely to appear in Wine, but maybe wined3d developers can comment on this?), this bug should be closed.

Not hacks as such, but different cards might use different render paths based on which extensions are present. The fact that the cursor doesn't appear in screenshots suggests this is the system cursor though (as opposed to drawing a surface at the mouse pointer's location by wined3d), which would mean wined3d doesn't have a whole lot to do with it. If this is the system cursor it's indeed likely the video drivers are to blame.

--- Comment #14 from Pavel Ondracka drakkk@centrum.cz 2009-08-21 16:22:06 --- I've got similar problem in Imperium Romanum ( http://www.gamershell.com/download_23180.shtml ) with Wine 1.1.28. Game cursor is rendered in a black square. Also in a screenshot I can see my normal cursor not the ingame one. However I've tested Dark Crusade demo and cursor there is ok. I'm using NVIDIA 185.18.31 drivers (NVIDIA 9600 GSO, Fedora 11 64bit). Should I open a new bug or is this just an another demonstration of this one?

--- Comment #15 from Danila Sentiabov dsent.zen@gmail.com 2009-08-22 05:53:55 --- (In reply to comment #14) If you consistently have no problems with Dark Crusade, but have reproducible problem with another application, it's a different issue and you should definitely open a new bug, even if these issues looks alike. You should mention though that you are aware of the other similar issue (I mean this one). Otherwise the bugzilla admins could just think that you cannot use search and mark your report as duplicate :-)
