Neither of you have actually described a problem. Likewise you need to prove it is not caused by a configuration of your computer or distro. Lastly, for anything like this to really be looked at, we would need profiling information to see what's sucking up CPU time. Having 100% CPU itself is not indicative of a problem. And with the variety of scheduler configurations, it could be actually valid operation under linux.
