Summary: Very big fps drop when recording in fraps Product: Wine Version: 1.1.19 Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: puciek@gmail.com
Recently i've tried to record ingame video using fraps via wine and i've encountered very huge fps drop (from 105 to 15) which is definitly caused by some sort of bug because on windows box this drop is nowhere so drastic.

--- Comment #1 from Tymoteusz Paul puciek@gmail.com 2009-04-14 15:03:54 --- I think that it may be related to bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11681 since it looks like now there is only partial implementation of video overlay.

--- Comment #3 from Nicky nheart@gmail.com 2009-05-16 11:17:49 --- I think this is not a bug since I had extreme fps drop in Windows as well when recording video - it is likely caused by the fact, that recording requires huge amount of hard drive i/o and cpu, which naturally effect fps.

--- Comment #4 from Tymoteusz Paul puciek@gmail.com 2009-05-16 11:20:36 --- There is difference between drop on linux and windows, i got pretty much similar dps on both boxed in eve (~110) but on windows it drops to ~40 which is perfeclty playable, but on linux it drops to 15 which is not.

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-11-19 12:53:20 --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 6 months. Is this still an issue in current (1.1.33 or newer) wine?

Is this still an issue in wine version 1.6-rc3 or higher or is this to be closed as abandoned ?
