--- Comment #1 from killertux killertux@suomi24.fi 2007-09-02 17:00:56 --- "error since its very beginning" So this does not run... appdb has some result and screenshots that show it's working.... so this could be regression please try bit older Wine version to verify this.

--- Comment #2 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2007-09-02 17:15:20 --- Demo still starts for me (into the menu at least). Nothing else works, because even demo uses SecuROM protection.

--- Comment #3 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2007-09-03 09:48:27 --- Works fine here as well, aside from Securom.

--- Comment #4 from Antonio López amlopezalonso@gmail.com 2007-09-03 16:32:46 --- I tried several settings, clean Wine installation to no way. Could it be these f**** ATI card drivers again.... :-(
BTW, could this SecureROM thing be overridden somehow in Wine?

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2007-09-04 05:28:33 --- Dupe of bug 9332?
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9564
--- Comment #6 from Antonio López amlopezalonso@gmail.com 2007-09-04 08:38:51 --- I confirm the game runs on an NVIDIA machine (sound, menu), so it really seems to be an ATI issue.
Austin, I don't know exactly if this could be a dupe of bug 9332, unless it is possible/convenient to group several ATI drivers issues under some few bug records.
I checked the game freezes whenever I choose tutorial/campaign modes (though music keeps playing), so I guess this is the point at which SecureROM takes place. However the errors I get are related to GL:
fixme:d3d:tex_alphaop Attempt to enable unsupported stage! fixme:d3d:tex_colorop >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glActiveTextureARB @ state.c / 1678
I must say this is an old NVIDIA TNT2 but I think it should bring enough power to play the game.

Same issue for me. Main menu works well, but when starting a new game or loading a (windows)savegame, attached error is shown. Tested with fglrx 8.35.5 and a lot of wine-git versions between 0.9.43 and 0.9.47

--- Comment #9 from Heinz Wiesinger HMWiesinger@gmx.at 2008-02-27 03:33:21 --- I get the same error here. Wine 0.9.56, Nvidia Geforce 7400 Go, Spellforce Platinum Edition. I applied a no-cd patch. Without it, the game doesn't even start. With it applied I can start the game, select points in the menu and select saved games. But as described earlier it then crashes while loading a game.

--- Comment #10 from Antonio López amlopezalonso@gmail.com 2008-03-18 18:07:53 --- This bug seems to be fixed in 0.9.57, the demo game starts and progresses normally except for a few minor graphical issues that should worth opening another bug. If someone could confirm this I will close this one as fixed.

--- Comment #11 from Antonio López amlopezalonso@gmail.com 2008-03-18 18:51:48 --- I also confirm that retail version 1.54 works ok (with the aforementioned graphical bugs).
