How is it possible to manage passwords on 200 sites if they don't use OpenID? Is it so hard to understand?

The bug has been marked as WONTFIX at mozilla.
I wrote a patch to that Mozilla bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294608#c33), it got rejected as they preferred it be implemented as an extension (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294608#c37).
Otherwise there is https://github.com/jalcine/bugzilla-openid , but it doesn't seem to be very active.
Maybe that's because it's already good enough?
What would it take to get OpenID into Wine's Bugzilla at this stage?
