Using MYOB 6.05c PCW GB on AMD64 with debian lenny 64-bit:
mostly works as expected except that all reports are blank and the program
freezes when clicking on"print".

Attachment is record on console when starting MYOB from prompt with:
env WINEPREFIX="/home/boss/.wine" wine "c:\MYOB6\MYOB.EXE" "j:\accounts.dat"

NB: j: = /home/userid

You might try disabling some environmental variables and see if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Unsetting environment variables has following
effects:
(a) as printed on the console:
env -i PATH="$PATH:./" DISPLAY="$DISPLAY" XAUTHORITY="$XAUTHORITY" HOME="$HOME"
 WINEPREFIX="/home/boss/.wine" /usr/bin/wine "c:\MYOB6\MYOB.EXE"

This has not been updated for over 900 days.

Is this still an issue in 1.6-rc1 or higher or is this abandoned ?

Running ubuntu 13.04 I don't have anything later than wine-1.4, where the
behaviour remains as above.  I have noted that you can print to a pdf and then
print out the pdf as a work-around, but no text appears on a screen report or
if you try to print it on paper.

Thanks for suggestion. Now have using ubuntu 13.04 with wine 1.5 and 1.6
installed as suggested.  'aptitude search wine' reports as installed: q4wine,
wine-mono0.0.8, wine1.5, wine1.6, wine1.6-amd64, wine1.6-i386:i386,
wine-gecko2.21:i386, winetricks.

Application now prints reports to screen ('display' command) and to a real
printer, as expected.

[NB: on starting on a terminal following 2 lines appear:
p11-kit: couldn't load module:
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so:
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory

On then choosing a file to open, following 3 lines appear:
