------- Additional Comments From lukas.middendorf@freenet.de 2007-05-08 15:35 ------- I can play WA in virtual desktop mode here (Wine 0.9.42 on Fedora 7). Worms Armageddon (3.6.28.0) does not minimize itself when using the main menu in virtual desktop mode.
But if I change focus from the virtual desktop to another window and back again, Worms seems to minimize (there is a Worms icon in the lower left of the virtual desktop) and I get the following lines on the console (only the second one when using hacked ddraw.dll): fixme:d3d:IWineD3DStateBlockImpl_Release Releasing primary stateblock fixme:win:LockWindowUpdate ((nil)), partial stub!
By double clicking onto the icon in the lower left I can restore WA but instead of a black screen I now have a gray one where I can see the shapes of some of the controlls of the menus (everything is normal with hacked ddraw.dll). Terminal shows the following lines (same as when the menu comes up for the first time): fixme:ddraw:IDirectDrawImpl_SetCooperativeLevel (0x16db20)->(0x10028,00000011) fixme:ddraw:IDirectDrawImpl_SetCooperativeLevel (0x16db20)->(0x10028,00000011) fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to 8 fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_CreateAdditionalSwapChain The app requests more than one back buffer, this can't be supported properly. Please configure the application to use double buffering(=1 back buffer) if possible
Sometimes I also see this line (didn't get it with hacked ddraw.dll): fixme:d3d_surface:surface_upload_data >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glTexSubImage2D @ surface.c / 195
If I repeat this, WA sometimes crashes (WA creates an errorlog.txt with lots of Information), sometimes it does not, did not find out what actions make it crash (with hacked ddraw.dll I have not seen a crash here).
