Summary: Bioshock 2 cannot pass release date check Product: Wine Version: 1.3.4 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: ntdll AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: scott@open-vote.org
Created an attachment (id=31257) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=31257) Terminal output for Bioshock 2 launcher -- release date check
Upon first launch Bioshock 2 will connect to the internet and attempt to validate the release date. This gets stuck at 30% and never completes. Sometimes it times out with an error.
I should note that some web searching shows this occurs sometimes on Windows as well, and that there is a manual workaround if needed: http://www.digitalworksweb.com/securomsupport/bioshock2_unlock_rc/
Looking at the terminal output points to some unimplemented information classes in ntdll as the most likely culprit.
