Summary: WC Prophecy and SO crash in both software and D3D modes Product: Wine Version: 1.0.0 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dlev89@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=14524) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14524) Failure messages for software and D3D modes
Wing Commander Prophecy and Secret Ops crash in both software and Direct3D modes, leaving the screen at the resolution the programs were running at (usually 640x480). OpenGL mode works, though it is extremely slow.
Using Intel 945GM video, Wine 0.9.56, also confirmed in 1.0.0. Accel method for XOrg is EXA, but this also happens when using XAA, or when using the i810 driver instead of the intel one.

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-07-02 08:59:02 --- Doesn't look like Wine crash. Enable core dumping (ulimit -c unlimited) and examine it to see what's crashing.

I know it's a Wine problem, since SO and Prophecy worked in earlier versions of Wine...
Anyway here's the core dump. It's 44 MB... Hope it helps:

Also, I should mention that software mode works in Wine 1.1.0 - although it is unusable due to graphical artifacts and problems with keyboard input.

--- Comment #4 from DanLev dlev89@gmail.com 2008-07-07 05:57:59 --- This appears to be solved in Wine 1.1.0, however, artifacts render the game unplayable in both software and D3D modes. Should I post a new bug for that?

--- Comment #5 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-07-08 19:05:59 --- Reported fixed, please open a new bug for the display artifacts. If it all worked fine in Wine 0.9.56, most likely someone will ask you to run a regression test:
