If I try Witcher 3 with Wine 2.3 and previous Wine-staging (at least up to 2.1) I get to the menu and I can start the game (wrongly rendered). If I try Witcher 3 with Wine-staging 2.3 I get a black screen and the computer becomes unresponsive until I ssh and kill it.

What drivers and what version of the drivers for your video card are you using? Also, you may want to add your terminal output as an attachment...

Linux manjaro 4.8.17-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jan 9 10:24:58 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux nVidia driver : 375.39-1
I've tried with Wine 2.3 and it's ok (I've also have the logs if needs to be) The issue also occurs on a 2.3 staging.
It always ends up having to connect to my machine with another computer and reboot it. (X is using 100% cpu and killing it results in an unusable console)
I've got another dump related to this : dmesg telling about a soft lockup and a track-trace going through the nVidia driver.

--- Comment #3 from wine-devel@hurrikhan.eu --- My bad : the 2.3-staging package I used for testing was broken and was most likely not tested. After rebuilding it from the sources the issue was resolved in 2.3.
