Summary: pulseaudio (via alsa) not working in 1.1.9 Product: Wine Version: 1.1.9 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mike@vee.net
I just upgraded to 1.1.9 and sound stopped working, it was working fine in 1.1.8.
The following is printed on the console when trying to play the test sound using winecfg:
ALSA lib pcm_pulse.c:625:(pulse_prepare) PulseAudio: Unable to create stream: Invalid argument
winecfg audio settings:
ALSA Driver Full hardware accell 44100/16bit default sample rate Driver emulation
Up-to-date Ubuntu Intrepid, with: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic SMP alsa-base 1.0.17.dfsg-2ubuntu1 pulseaudio 0.9.10-2ubuntu9
I'm using the pulse plugin for ALSA.

--- Comment #2 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-11-24 15:25:59 --- Invalid. File bug with your distro. Wine doesn't work with pulseaudio directly with with ALSA. If pulseaudio breaks something it's not Wine's bug.

--- Comment #4 from Michael Gratton mike@vee.net 2008-11-24 22:50:19 --- Nothing else changed other than upgrading Wine from 1.1.8 to 1.1.9, so Pulse Audio didn't break anything - Wine did.
If this is invalid, clearly I don't need to run the regression tests.
Thanks.
