Steps to reproduce: 1) remove "~/.wine" directory 2) install NFS Porsche 3) patch NFS Porsche with "Porsche Unleashed Enhanced Version 3.5.20040310" 4) in directory "~.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Need For Speed - Porsche Unleashed/Drivers" replace dx7z.dll with dx8z.dll from http://jeffareid.net/nfs4/spotptch.zip archive 5) remove gimme.dll from main NFS Porsche directory 6) wine Porsche.exe driver=dx7z
The game will start and main menu will appear. For very short time image on left is seen then image on right (see attachment). The problem is that on both text is displayed incorrectly.
Additional information: Graphic card: GF 9xxx Graphic card drivers: 190.32

In the wine-1.3.8 all fonts looks great, exclude an absence of the gamers profile picture.

--- Comment #4 from Sascha Baumeister sascha.baumeister@gmail.com 2011-03-29 20:26:26 CDT --- I was able to confirm this bug in wine 1.1.42. However, it seems to be fixed in wine 3.1.14+, at least for an NVIDIA GeForce chipset and correctly installed NVIDIA linux driver.
Gamer profile picture is indeed missing, but I judge this is unrelated to this particular bug.
