The componants tool never becomes usable. This tool is central for much of the
basic functioning of SkecthUp as a 3d tool - so I've marked this as 'major'.

I have no experience with debugging wine and SketchUp doesn't actually crash.

I should clarify that existing componants seem to work fine - but I cannot
create new componants.

log of SketchUp session

Here's the log. I don't think you'll find this problem in there. I say no
activity in the log as I tried to use the componant tool. Looking a bit closer
at what heppened it looks as though the in model selection is dropped as I
click on the componant tool. So it may be that the problem here is to do with
reacitons to mouse clicks instead of anything to do with the componant tool.

(The wiki should perhaps mention how to 'cd' to 'Program Files' with 'Program\
Files' - it's not obvious!)

This ticket has not been updated for over 900 days. Development recommends
to check the status on your bug every release or two and let to be known if the
bug is still present. If not, mark it fixed. If you are no longer able to put
effort to this ticket, you can abandon it.

Is this still an issue with 1.7.4 or higher ?

Hello folks,

I can't reproduce this, the 'Components' tool works fine here.
Selected several components and dragged them onto the plane.

Resolving 'fixed'.

$ sha1sum FW-3-0-16846-EN.exe 
6c9a61fe12b21fe9a1d6b5ee1bb79f331a5fc36c  FW-3-0-16846-EN.exe

$ du -sh FW-3-0-16846-EN.exe 
35M    FW-3-0-16846-EN.exe

$ wine --version
