Summary: HOMAM 3 Complete (G4U Czech version) friezes until 0.9.51 Product: Wine Version: 0.9.52. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: wine-ole AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: churchyard@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=9861) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9861) error log (when it friezes)
When trying to play Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete (G4U Czech version), it starts normally, but it friezes after few seconds with a short message in terminal (as I've attached). It had worked fine on older versions (on 0.9.50), but it friezes until 0.9.51.

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2007-12-29 09:54:26 --- HoMM 3 complete English version works fine here with wine-0.9.51. Can you try with wine-0.9.52? There were number of bugs fixed related to hanging apps.

This bug is set as a bug for 0.9.52, because I have Wine in version 0.9.52 . The hanging and the log are the same in 0.9.51 & 0.9.52 .

If wine 0.9.52 doesn't fix your problem, please run a regression test.
While a regression test I saw, that new bottle solved that problem, but I want to keep my bottle. I tried to reinstall HoMM3 (after uninstalling i deleted each entry about it in .reg files), but it didn't help. It is not actually a bug, but it is incompatibility between something in 0.9.50's .wine dir and 0.9.51's .wine dir, I think.

--- Comment #4 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-01-01 18:07:50 --- Thanks for the info. Wine doesn't provide .wine directory compatibility yet between versions.
I'm marking this one invalid. The issue of .wine directory compatibility deserves a good clean bug report sometime, though.

--- Comment #6 from Miro Hroncok churchyard@gmail.com 2008-01-02 06:13:23 --- So if I want to keep everything in my registry I should make a new bottle for HoMM3, to keep it working?
