Bug ID: 52004 Summary: Thief Gold and Thief II, New dark, mouse lag Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: suttorp@pt.lu Distribution: ---
In both titles Thief Gold and Thief II, with the community patch TFix 1.27 which updates the engine to Dx9, the mouse lags. It is not an extreme case, but it is still very annoying. This is sad, because other then that the games run flawlessly.
Information on the TFix patch can be found here: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733
The patch basically makes the game playable on modern PC's.
This applies to wine, wine-staging and proton. This is not a new behavior.

--- Comment #1 from Matheus matheus.venturini@acad.ufsm.br --- I installed the game and used the GoldToDark tool to convert Gold to the original version, and then applied TFix 1.27. I was able to play to near completion without any problems at all, I didn't notice any mouse lag. I imagine it could be a strange edge case that's causing the lag for you Ben, but still I think if you posted the messages generated by Wine it could help the developers to figure out what's going on.
