I tried to install Windows Live Messenger 8.5 stable.
The installer won't start, and the MSI file of messenger won't install either.

oops, the msi installation did work, but yet, the normal installer don't

The problem is an unimplemented funtion

I can't compile wine 1.1.6 right now, are you sure that it works with wine

Please try with clean ~/.wine directory. sfdrv01.sys is part of the StarForce
copy protection that has nothing to do with Live Messenger.

Closing invalid. You are welcome to reopen if the problem persists with clean
(you have to remove it) ~/.wine directory and wine-1.1.6
