--- Comment #1 from winetest@luukku.com --- Can't really promise you anything, but could you try the latest wine or wine-staging you could currently get hands on? Around 3 months has passed and a lot of source added meanwhile into wine. I am just saying that dx11 in wine is maturing.

--- Comment #3 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- Could you retest with plain wine too?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41995
--- Comment #4 from xxx@muad-dib.net --- tested 2.3 to 2.5 and it's not working without staging 2.4-staging isn't working too

--- Comment #6 from xxx@muad-dib.net --- I filed a new bug for the later wine versions https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42799 so i think we can close this one since it is based on wine 2.0-rc1

--- Comment #9 from cyfer3@googlemail.com --- since NW and STO does indeed use the same game engine, it doesn't fix anything for STO tho.
however I hope it does still work for NW

I think I misread comment 4 :/
Reopening for the time being.

--- Comment #11 from xxx@muad-dib.net --- Just checked STO and with the patch from https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42799 it is just working fine just like NW, so with wine-2.6-staging it is fixed. i would mark it as closed and wontfix
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41995
--- Comment #12 from xxx@muad-dib.net --- if marked as fixed or wontfix just depends on how you handle it as the bug is for a old wine version
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41995
--- Comment #13 from cyfer3@googlemail.com --- true, I have another bug report open which (hopefully) is seen as wine-staging and wine-devel bug report aswell (speaking of STO)
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42696
this might have been fixed in the past but Cryptic abandoned dx9 support completely (see my bug report comment 4)

Sorry but this is getting off topic... I deleted d3dcompiler_47.dll and let "force verify" run in launcher and all is fine for NW and STO. Checkout the patch from https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42799 and be sure your graphic card supports dx11 ;-)

It still doesn't work with plain Wine 2.6, right? Then it's a valid bug.

AFAIK it doesn't work with plain Wine just because CheckFormatSupport() is not implemented. Resolving as duplicate.
